Galton's Details

The picture below depicts the ridge detail's use in what is called level two characteristics. These are the detailed characteristics that Galton is credited with. There is only one missing and that is called the Dot. A dot though can only be classified as a characteristics if it is as wide or as thick as the adjoining ridges. 

You will need to remember these since they are used in the comparison of fingerprint to fingerprint.
